About Me
Thanks for taking a little time to learn about me.
Married to Kate Henderson. I met Kate while she was a student in one of the youth ministries I served as an intern for. No, I didn’t date her then, but I did keep in touch over the years. After her first year in college she and I began dating and were married about a year and a half after that. I’m one of those guys that married WAY out of his league and thankful to God for the partner he’s given me. Kate is a stay at home mom, author and speaker and has an incredible workbook for girls preparing for them for college called The Freshman 15 Bible Study.
Kate and I have 2 awesome kids, Caleb who is 4 and Lydia
who is 1. Being a dad is awesome and challenging and fun and crazy and patience testing and on and on, but I love it. God definitely uses my wife and kids to sharpen me and remind me of my need for the gospel.
Glory of God – During my time at Texas A&M, I had the privilege of spending time with an older man from the Navigator’s ministry. His full time ministry was to disciple young men like myself. I remember him teaching me about the best way to study God’s Word through Bible Study Methods. During my college years I developed a passion for the Word of God. I had already surrendered to vocational ministry my senior year of high school, but my relationship with the Lord really grew during college. One of the things that stuck out to me as I really began to study the Word of God and to read and listen to others who were passionate about the Lord (John Piper, Matt Chandler, JR Vasser), is that the Bible was not just a book to help me live a good life, no, it was a grand story of God’s redemption of mankind for His own glory. I began to see scripture, church and every part of my life as a vehicle to bring glory to God. My perspective changed and I’ve never been the same since.
Fast forward to today. I work a full time job as a tech support specialist during the week. I’m one of the pastors at a large church where we live and I also enjoy helping others grow their income either through their own small business or through various work at home opportunities. My priorities are first as a disciple of Christ, next as a husband to Kate, next to my kids and finally to ministry and business.
